Jiří Melantrich of Aventino (cca, 1511-1580) prepared five editions of the Bible between the years 1549 and 1577. The Bible of 1549, when Melantrich joined with Prague's privileged printer Bartoloměj Netolický of Netolice, was still heavily dependent, especially in terms of the illustrations, on the second Severin’s edition of 1537. The language editing was entrusted to Sixt of Ottesdorf, and he for the first time translated the Apocryphal 3rd Macabayan Book, St. Paul’s Wondering, Acts of the Apostles, The Table of Times and the Apocryphal Epistle of St. Paul to Laodiceans.

Condition: leather binding, renewed binding in the 19th century, the cover sheet was cut and pasted during the restoration, the first pages behind the title sheet were damaged and are loose from their binding, the text part is restored in places, in the last part (chapter IX ... when the fifth Angel was trumpeting the star fell) the missing page was replaced with an old transcription
